Meet Your Host: Cécile Bergart, Champagne Expert and Sommelier
The Test of Stockbridge are delighted to introduce Cécile Bergart of Hampshire Wine School, a true connoisseur and passionate educator in the world of wine and spirits.
“Seeing people enjoy a glass of something special gives me enormous pleasure,” says Cécile. “I, for one, was given my very first drop of Champagne at four hours old, and apparently liked it very much!” she laughs.
Armed with distinctions from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust and the French Wine Scholar Guild, Cécile founded Hampshire Wine School 13 years ago. Since then, she has welcomed everyone from curious beginners to seasoned tasters to her events. Her aim? To help people shop smarter, taste better, and feel more confident in their choices — all without the pressure of sales or affiliations.
“Many people find themselves staring at shelves of bottles unsure of what to choose. I want to change that,” she explains. “You don’t have to spend a fortune to enjoy good wine — it’s about knowing what to look for, and I’m here to help.”
